Grade 1
This is for young players who are still learning the basics of
percussion. Musical concepts, vocabulary and ideas are all geared towards
developing the needs and techniques of the beginning percussionist.
Grade 2
This is a great fit for ensembles that have acquired a basic
understanding of techniques and concepts use in an ensemble setting. Music
is written to be cohesive while still introducing concepts that will allow
for growth as an individual performer and ensemble member.
Grade 3
This level is where a possible "competition level" emphasizes
simplicity of design with a contemporary flair. This level is designed for
the growing ensemble while offering a slightly more challenging program
through centralized technical and musical concepts.
Grade 4
This level is geared towards the accomplished and experienced
ensemble. Concepts are written to showcase advanced concepts in musicality,
technique, and ensemble playing.
Grade 5
This level is where “Cutting–edge” or “State of the Art” design
meets the ultimate in technical and musical display. This is for the most
advanced groups competing or performing at the highest level.
